Barcelona is allegedly interested in signing Adnan Januzaj, a former Manchester United attacker. The Blaugrana are currently dealing with an injury issue in attack and are expected to make signing a forward a top priority in January.

Barcelona are interested in signing Januzaj on a free transfer next summer after his contract with Real Sociedad expires at the end of the season, according to Sport. The Blaugrana, on the other hand, could attempt to sign the Belgian in January for a discount price, as they are desperate for attacking reinforcements.

Januzaj came up through Manchester United's development system before making his senior team debut in 2013-14. Januzaj quickly established himself as a regular starter at Old Trafford, appearing in 35 games and scoring four goals in all competitions. During the 2014-15 season, though, the Belgian dropped down the pecking order. During the second half of the 2015-16 season, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund to play regular football. During his loan term with the German giants, Januzaj, on the other hand, failed to make an impression.

The 26-year-old spent the 2016-17 season on loan with Sunderland before joining Real Sociedad on a permanent basis in the summer of 2017. During his four-and-a-half seasons with the club, he has scored 20 goals and supplied as many assists in 146 games across all competitions. Real Sociedad are allegedly interested in extending the attacker's contract. According to rumours, Barcelona has 'interfered' with Januzaj's contract renewal procedure at Sociedadm because they want to sign him.

Barcelona desperately needs attacking reinforcements, as many of its attackers are injured. After injuring his hamstring in Barcelona's 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich on midweek, Memphis Depay is expected to be out for at least a month. Ansu Fati and Martin Braithwaite have both been ruled out owing to injury.

Barcelona is currently in seventh place in the La Liga standings. After a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, the Blaugrana were eliminated from the Champions League.

After finishing third in their Champions League group, Xavi Hernandez's squad was relegated to the Europa League.

After parting ways with Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi this summer, the Spanish giants have been unable to find suitable replacements. Despite their financial difficulties, the club may be obliged to sign several players in January due to a lack of quality and depth in their team.

Barcelona has been connected with Adnan Januazaj of Real Sociedad and Edinson Cavani of Manchester United.
